That loading dock is fantastic! I can already imagine the rails embedded in the asphalt with tires and other litter thrown about. Wow!
Those buildings look great. I just love dirty grundgy industries. You'll have to find a way to keep those taggers away though.bh
". . . just lacking a few detail parts" Yeah, sure. Awesome stucco work and the aging on the rail side building is, well, real. .
Tom_mann, are you building a continous running layout or dioroma type? Just wondering. I know the post says layout, but that is all relavant. Although I think a diorama would be cool, it would be awsome to see you do a Z scale layout or at least a small one. What I really like is the way you hid the seams with the stucco. You have so much respect in the world of model RR doing somehting is Z is just great, because you could have gone with any scale. I am looking forward to your progress.
Thanks everybody! Joe, the layout so far is about 8 feet long and about 16 inches wide. Three portions of the layout "jut out" into the room and range in depth from 3 feet to 20 inches. There is no continuous running, but both ends are designed with future expansion in mind. The layout is attached to the wall using the modified cantilevered design that I made based on 1990's MR articles by Bill Darnaby.
