I had to be in Dallas on a job interview Friday, which necessitated my flying down to D-FW Airport Thursday evening. I took a shuttle from the airport to Centreport Station, and a TRE commuter train east to Dallas Union Station. The train I took that night consisted of three RDCs, which looked & ran very well. We made good time into DUS, where I transferred to DART light rail and a bus to Baylor University Medical Center.

The next afternoon I took TRE back to Centreport Station for a trip to D-FW, and then home. My westbound ride consisted of a streamlined F59PH and three Bombardier coaches (late of GO Transit). We sat along the westbound Texas Eagle, and several DART trains. The coaches were clean,,and rode well.

Between DART's trains and TRE, the Dallas area has got a nice little transit system going there.

And for a dollar from DUS to Centreport, it ain't a bad ride [IMG]

And now I know what Athearn's N scale diesel and passenger cars should look like (I hope).

I'm really looking forward to the release of the TRE in HO scale. The Fort Worth "T" and Dallas "DART" have done a good job with this train. It is nice and quiet inside and moves quickly. Last time I rode it was about two years ago, so I can't vouch for the ride behind an F59, but I can tell you from driving beside it, it moves quickly!

Hoping that TRE service grows and grows,
