I have a MP three-pack. The detail is as good as recent Atlas and Red Caboose products Painting is as good as Atlas and Microtrains. The only negative I would have is that the coal load is too uniform to look realistic.

larry thanks, that is what i was thinking about the load myself. but anyway sounds like the mopac here may be getting a new coal drag soon, i think 48 of them will be nice to start with.

I bought 30 about 6-months ago. Half in the buzzsaw, and half in the eagle scheme. On his website, he offers a discount for assembled cars. I e-mailed him, and asked if he would offer a discount on the kits, if I bought everything through him. he did. So I got the car kits and the micro-trains wheel sets. I love them! The detail is excellent. I used Oddballs decals to change some of the numbers, so I have all unique numbers on the cars. I assembled them al with Loctite brand CA, and the assemble was a snap. I cut-off the coupler boxes and body mounted them. I've had no problems with them. They track very well. On the loads, they do look too smooth, but you can fix that. I drilled a small hole in the top center and CA'd a track spike sticking up. I then placed the load in the car, and put a light coat of diluted wood glue over the surface. Then I sprinkled on fine charcoal granules I removed from a water filter. It looks great. I use the track spike to remove the loads easily, once they're delivered to the coal power plant, then they can return as empties.

thanks mopac1 i will give it a shot and see, i noticed the loads look similar to the ones precision masters used on their coal cars, that does sound like a good fix to the load also.
