A BNSF Track Geometry Train traveled along the Front Range Sub. It arrived in Longmont, CO on a beautiful late October morning, heading north towards Cheyenne, WY. It was traveling beyond Cheyenne, perhaps to Casper, Wyoming or even farther north. 1) BNSF 6719 is seen leading the Track Geometry Train past M.P. 43.6 in Longmont, CO. 2) Here we see the the Geometry Train going by Highland, CO on the BNSF Front Range Sub. 3) Seen is the test car located at the rear of the train, as it diagnosis the railroad tracks for alignment and curvature. To me the only BNSF track geometry car is the old Santa Fe #85. Saw it go thru old Atwood CA wye at 2 mph in mid '80s. Then got to visit on board in ABQ in '87 on a private car trip. They told me the wye was condemned & later torn out based on their findings. Later saw it w/ #86 going by Barstow yard in '98.
