Too many chefs cutting into a small pie?

    I have had a few industry folks speculate that for every MR reader, there is another modeler. That was when MR had the 225K circulation, so I always assumed 450K modelers or so.....if 20% are in N, we haven't cracked the 100,000 barrier yet!

    I, for one, doubt the modeling population has dropped to 380K, just because MR has dropped. Rather, I think they have just lost some circulation to the net, and other specialized magazines. Now, I just reupped again, and love the magazine, but as noted, many here don't seem to agree......

    You have my complete agreement on both of these points.

    Specialty mags have probably taken at least a decent bite. Here in the USA, there are two N scale, three (?) S scale, one O scale, at least two narrow gauge, and even one for Z scalers. I dropped MR and RMC long ago for specialty mags.
