Not that tanked.... Tank cars! Let's see what ya got! Cheyenne, WY, on a UP wreck train: (looks like it needs to visit the RIP track, too)
Nice. An older c8000-10000 gallon car. Love seeing these. Hope it still exists. It should go to a museum when retired! Boxcab E50
Okay, here's something a little different. This is the water tank car that goes with rotary snowplow OY on the Cumbres & Toltec. This was sitting in Antonito last summer when we visited. The rotary snowplow itself was down in Chama. Regards
Yup. D&RGW narrow gauge rotaries were lettered. Not numbered. There were several. But right now the only other I can recall is the OM. Boxcab E50
Ok, I thought "OY" was a description of a snow-removal device.... as in I walk into the train store and ask "where do you keep the Atlas Rotary Oy's" nevermind
Okay, just because you're talking about them, here are C&T rotary snowplows OM & OY sitting in the Chama yard a year ago. I know this is a bit off topic for the thread. Regards
Here are some I have to offer. SP&S 38613 Fort Madison IA 8/1/1999 NP 102009 Tulsa OK 11/1/1999 BN 973529 Tulsa OK 1995 SPMW 7468 Martinez CA 7/1991 GATX 27153 Tulsa OK 11/13/2004
Hey that's great. The lettering on that SP&S tank car is as crooked as the dry transfer letters I try to put on my tank cars. Now I don't feel so bad, my lettering is semi-prototypical!!! The BN car lettering isn't all that professional either. Regards
A good sample for weathering a model: This unit, at the Danbury Railway Museum, has been repainted since this picture was made.
