Members, take a look at the number on this locomotive, Pere Marquette 1225. Put a slash in there, 12/25. What do you have? Christmas. The 1225 has committed to attending the 175th Anniversary of steam in America by travelling to the NRHS convention in Baltimore in 1993. (Make that 2003). I'm a member of the organization, and am encouraging everyone who plans to attend (or not) the convention to help out the 1225 gang. Their website is at Steam Railroading Institute [ 19. Jim, Nice shot! Good pick too for the Christmas train!!! If I'm not mistaken, thats a 2-8-4! Berkshire.... I can't tell by looking at it tho, I can't see the rear "trailing truck" but I do believe it is by the way the boiler is made....
Right on, John, she's a Berk. Now, if the Nickel Plate 765 group in Fort Wayne get their machine put back together, they intend to go to Baltimore too. It would be a reenactment of the '91 convention in Huntington, WVa with the two Berks side by side. Anyone getting interested in Baltimore '93? Better yet, make that 2003. [ 19. Bill, you caught me in another senility attack. I guess I have a mental block about this being the 21st Century and my brain won't accept that fact. This is all in regard to the NRHS 2003 Convention in Baltimore. Forget 1993, it's gone (but Sharon and I rode the New River Train back then, behind 765).
Well Jim .. I'd say you are in good company here LOL Hey! We finally got the green light to start work on Pancho (#19). Come on over and get your hands dirty if you'd like
Inrterested? Baltimore? Damnn right I'm interested! Its steam isn't it ??? Ought to say plenty for those who knows me! HA! Just getting their with a worthless set of wheels of my own is the trouble! Might see if I can get a "gang" together and take a trip with them and all.... might get me their faster then my hunk of junk would. if I'd even get their with it!
