Mike K "6206_S1a" my cousin Frank, an myself done this show being they were not advertising for a show but we done one anyway! Here's some of the pictures we got of it! From Saturday, an Sunday this past weekend! Mike's Kato SD-80MAC, CSX #801 head on comming through the bridge... It after clearing the brige an headed towards the station passing the old steam water tower! CSX #801 after passing the station comming around the bend... Then comming up the back stretch of the layout towards the controls..... More to come! ENJOY!
Here's pictures of the 3 of us.... Mike an Frank... At the O scale layout controls. Can ya tell these 2 went to school together? Mike, himself, at the O scale layout controls... Frank, himself, at the O scale layout controls... Myself, at the O scale layout controls... Myself, at the HO scale layout controls... Myself, again at the HO scale layout controls... What a buncha mug shots!
Here's a few more.... Mike's 2 double headed B&O 2-10-2's "Big Sixes" S-1a's. Passing the station.... Getting ready to split the signals.... (Sadly, not CPL B&O trademark signals, but will have to do for now)... Mike's B&O 2-10-2 #6200, passing the station, with the help of his other B&O 2-10-2 #6206 on the rear keeping up the coupler slack, giving a hard push.... Then the B&O 2-10-2 on the rear adding some tractive effort to assist the train up the 1 percent grade.... ENJOY! [ 03. July 2003, 08:12: Message edited by: 7600EM_1 ]
And last, but not least.... Here's the last of the pictures of the train show.... My BIG B&O EL-5 #7165 2-8-8-0, doing the job alone! on the point pullin' hard an attempting to articulate a turnout.... It got through the turnout an headed towards the curve ahead... In the curve, getting the train on its way to then begin the climb up grade, doing very well unasisted... This all I got from this show from this past weekend.. It was a blast for the 3 of us! We hope to do it again! As this weekend, the 3 of us are going to go "Hobby Shop Jummpin"
John, Nice photos. Looks like you guys put on yet another great train show. Are the tracks permanently installed in the building where you show them?
Jim, Yep it was a blast! We always have fun an even goof off when the public traffic slows down! HA! The layouts are permanent. They stay up all year long an just added too. The Meyersdale Historical Society owns them, I'm building the HO scale one, Gary (which didn't attend this show) is building the O scale layout, an Pete (which also wasn't there) is building the G scale layout. All are permanent as far as that goes....
WOW! John, If I had all that where I could get to it, I would probably never go home! You might not either when you get that big 0-10-0 switcher running! Some guys have life by the tail, made in the shade! You must have a rut worn in the street between your house and the layout by now! You sure look like a Happy Camper at the throttle!
Yeah Watash, I am a happy camper at the HO controls being I can run my own trains on it! I designed, an built that layout as you see it so far! I got alot to do yet but I have to get funding from the Society before I do any more on it, but It was built the tabling, an track an cork road bed laid an wired for action all in 3 days! But yeah ole buddy, you do know that the club or well Meyersdale Historical Society is DIRECTLY across the street from me right? I mean litterally out my front door cross the street an in the parkin lot to the place you'd be! an yeah I got a nice rut goin on! HA! I enjoy working on that layout! I just got to get working on my own more! But, I got all the time in the world an all for myown, so.... I'll get the one at the club up an going first an make some money while at it! As I buy all the material I need from the money they give me, and then make so much for the work I do on the layout itself. And I can even sell them stuff that I get in the shop that I don't want nor need for my own layout for on theirs so....
I sure was Steve!!!!!! An will always! I'm running trains aren't I ???? Thats the fun of the hobby.... The end effect from being able to run the trains after all that work! Then like me with the joy of being able to say "Hey, I built that an look at it go! Makes it all worth the effort in the end!
