I know...its an 'inkblot test' right ? I see an elephant and my wife sees a butterfly. Just having a little fun and messin with ya Sams
Can't see those videos, it says they are private. What are the coils? For Tortoises to work on Peco turnouts I had to use a stiffer wire than what Circuitron provides in order to overcome the turnout springs.
Oh my F**** god hahahahahahah That is one of the funniest things @mtntrainman hahahahah HOW did you see that !!!! lol well of all my posting I'm glad you found that piece entertaining hahahaha !! I had to show everyone in my household. That was great lol
I have a group of doctors who study my reactions to ink blots BTW...I have been enjoying your build thread
It most definitely is a gift! I'm very impressed with what y'all came up with lol The videos should be viewable now. @NtheBasement For some reason I didn't publish them when I uploaded them. I'll be back with more ! Thanks @mtntrainman I can't wait until It's all put together !
Good evening everyone, I found an update somewhere hanging in my garage..... So I figured I would share ! These lights and wire are extremely small. I found that I broke a few along the way. haha Hope everyone is doing good !
Ok !! Rant time... Man I have been having the most fun with these BLI Paragon 3 decoders !! ugh !! So a while back I got two BLI models and thought it would be a good addition. It still is but I need some help from BLI lol I contacted them and emailed the guy back and forth asking what to do.. so of course cleaning of everything was in nature and I did that. Problem dissappeared but all to come back to soon. The loco shut off never came back on. I reset it again using CV8 (on top of the paragon 3 decoder reset) Things seemed to be ok. The last few nights I have been in the process of consisting my BLI Paragon 3 sound decoder locomotive and my ESU LOK Sound Atlas chessie locomotive and I was almost there. I changed one CV and it died again !!! I'll be contacting the guy again. Possibly to get another decoder since he mentioned that was a possibility. All I can say is electronics have almost gotten the best of me hahaha Speed matching is hard enough lol
@MK Yes it is ! lol I've read all about there issues. My favorite one is when the train loses control and just starts speeding around the track. It's like catching a mouse on steroids. @mtntrainman You dont !? I can see why but aren't most dcc locos sound equipped anyways ?
Straight DCC...no sound...locomotives can still be bought. Lucky for me i have almost all the locomotives i need. Have a few that need decoders yet but...................
Actually, just based on what I see running at trains shows (my club goes to quite a few), the majority of DCC is still silent but sound is catching up.
@Joe Lovett Yes sir ! His ghostly presence is entertaining. Though when I had a small derailing issue It had quite the launch. He must have survived haha Great Joe ! @mtntrainman You want to try a sound decoder ......... ? lol @MK Oh wow. I didn't even realize that. I thought sound has been around for a long time. I have always been impressed with all the stuff they pack into these locomotives. Speaking of Clubs.. I've been curious about joining one and how it works. I actually signed up for a membership with NMRA. They claim they will be sending me a bunch of information on that sort of thing. I'm looking forward to it but not quite to sure what to expect from them ... besides a magazine lol
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...NO...thanks I have enough stress in my life and even some with the layout. I really...really...REALLY dont need anymore with a locomotive that is possessed and stops whenever and wherever it wants and automatically resets the decoder to factory defaults on its own...LOL
Sams, I would like to say I have enjoyed seeing your progress but I cant... I cant see any of the images. This may just be my work computer not allowing it as Government data systems sometimes block what is visible to everyone else. I will check again when I get home. As for the sound... I was so excited when I got my first sound loco. It was an HO scale BLI SD40-2 in NS colors. It ran great, sounded great, and pulled pretty good. Then it didn't sound so great, (Not the trains fault but the same droning sound over and over got to me) and the volume would not go low enough and eventually I just turned the sound off. Same with my Class J. I would use sound only at shows as the larger venue made the sound not as droning and the visitors seemed to really like hearing the engine and horn. Now I am in N scale and I only have one sound loco, its a SD70ACe and it only does shows as well. I prefer no sound at home personally, and thankfully there are still many no sound options to be had.
