Would you say these are......... #1 a definite must have #2 a possibility #3 not my style Again, Testing One, Two, Three!!!! Hobo Tim
Nice cardboard buildings Tim. I was going to say I want one, but then I notice it. Still, they look great.
:thumbs_up:Tim, wow mg:,I would like to have :tb-cool: Tim, What for rail do you have???? MTL or ......????
Silly Rabbit Of course they are cardstock buildings!!!!!! But, they are test fit samples of what could be etched brass!!!!!!!! So, still dis-interested in them?????? Hobo Tim
MTL Flex Harry, I use MTL Flex Track. That is what is in the photos. The only other track I have is MTL Quick-Track that snaps together. Oh, and a small oval of Marklin track that came with an old UP MTL desktop F7 set. Hobo Tim
I think they are a "must have available" to Z Scalers. I myself would prefer this style of structure made from plastic sheet, due to cost, ease of assembly, finish, and customization. But I think that if made of brass, it might limit the volume to a more manageable production run, and keep in line with your established quality products.
Tim, I really need the larger of the two building. Specially if it only has one boxcar door. I always say there is lack of modern warehouse. Most of the warehouse I see down are here are of the prefab type with boxcar heigh floors and roll up doors.
I agree with John about the larger building. For me, this one would borders on a strong "possiblity" and a "must have" for me. I also agree with Robert about a plastic kit which would make it available to more Z scalers.
Wait, Wait, Wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hold on now guyZ! I just posted photos of this to see if there were yes, no or maybe's!! All of you guyZ know I am a "MODERN" modeler and the things I come up with are MODERN in nature. I have nothing against ancient, old timey, transition, of even the well established diesel eras, I just like Modern. Now having said that I know the modern modelers are a minority, especially when it comes to Z scale. Of course AZL is greatly helping to change this with the SD70/75's (Go Modern)! We modern modelers don't have much to choose from to model with. Most everything I have I scratchbuilt myself. These modern sheds are just something I have played around with in on my computer. What you see in the photos are two different and distinct buildings. One is a three bay rollingstock car shop and the longer one is a two bay diesel engine shed. Both are MODERN!! Love that word!!! TrainCAT is doing research on modern/semi-modern engine shops right now. Reynard has just released his version of a steam/early diesel engine shed. I really don't see a huge market for my version of these structures but I just wanted to see what the Z scaler's reactions would be to these. By the way, after several days and many hours of designing them only after printing them did I realize I created it in the wrong color scheme. The black sections need to be white and the white sections need to be black for it to all etch right. We are talking about many more hours of repair. Not something I want to do or even think about right now!!! Thanks for your interest in these MODERN sheds!!! Perhaps one day they will be released! Hobo Tim
Tim: There may be a LOT more interest in Modern, than you think. I'll put my money on the line for these. ...don
Modern, Go modern for sure Modern, go modern, etch it into your brain me ladds. Speaking of modern Tim what happened to your modern tank car? Are you still going to produce it? I would think that would make a bigger splash than the sheds.
