Here's one I bagged in Great Falls on Friday--I snapped the shutter thinking I read ATSF reporting marks from afar, but upon uploading and reviewing them, I realized this is a bonafide Frisco car!! Let's see some more Frisco survivors!
You asked for it: Burro crane in Miami, OK, on the former Frisco Afton Sub. Mikado 4003 at the Ft. Smith Trolley Museum
There is a Frisco coal hopper that I see passing through Knoxville every so often. As luck would have it, I'm always in the car driving the opposite direction.:tb-err:
saw a BN boxcar that had been overpanted frisco and a 3 bay and a 2 bay covered hopper in BNSF north bound train Tom
Apparently Frisco 4500 is being restored for display in a new park in West Tulsa, Oklahoma. Check out this site: A look at the planned Route 66 Station Route 66 News They have a black-and white of its sister 4501
A few years ago, we'd see on Montana Rail Link some ex-Frisco covered hoppers. They were being used for loading pea gravel. Their paint was coming off, and FRISCO could clearly be seen. Boxcab E50
Wow. What a site! Links and more links. Nice to see the steamer is planned as their centerpiece. Boxcab E50
Up until a few years ago I used to be able to see plenty of FRISCO hoppers around Tulsa, but my last few trips yielded NADA, ZIPPO. There were quite a few ex-CNW yellow hoppers around on my last trip. Sure would be neat to see completion of 4500's restoration! Anyone seen pics of it in it's current state? -Mike EDIT: Just found this pic: SLSF 4500 back from the dead
