I got the DN163KOB's in these and the mars light hooked up. Thought you guys might like to see them up close. Hope you enjoy, Mike
Mike: Thanks for posting the great photo's. Am glad to hear the F-7's take the Digitrax DN163KOB's. I have a few on hand ready to install in the loco's. Stay cool and run steam.....
Paul , No , I had to mill out a hole in the front of the frame to fit the additional LED salvaged from the B unit decoders and attached it to the F1 pads with thin wire. I then put black heatshrink over the LED and cut the headlite lenses apart from each other. Thanks , Mike
Mike, would you mind a few words on how to take off the shells? I have an AB unit and I already have the decoders. Thanks! BTW, great mars light!
MK pickup the loco with both hands, put both thumbs on the roof and put both index and middle fingernails under the lower side sills and pull outward over a soft suface. when the chassis starts to drop lift the rear of the shell up and if you move it just right you can get the shell off without losing the front coupler ( provided the trip pin is not installed). Mike
Mike: Thanks for the info on the Mars light installation. That looks easy enough. Stay cool and run steam......
Your welcome Bob , It is pretty easy. Mill or grind the area between the sides of the frame all the way back to the drive shaft cushon block and you wil have plenty of room. Mike
