How would i got about stripping flat black enamal paint from a kato shell without damaging the plastic of the shell. Any help will be appreciated Thanks guyz
I had spray painted a car using a can of primer grey Testor's enamel and of course I put too much and screwed the whole paint job. So I let it in 99.5% alcohol for WEEKS and the paint NEVER went away. So now I have a ruined project Never again will I use enamel, I hate enamel, enamel is my enemy, acrylics are my friends...
For you both, those "ruined" projects can be brought to life! I use enamel paint all the time! Unless I'm weathering, then I use arcylics! Go to your local hobby shop an look for Polly S or Polly Scale "ELO" Easy Lift Off" its a paint stripper that will NOT attack plastic, leave the item soak in it for a few minutes (till you see the paint wrinkle) then with a brush of some type (I bought a soft toothbrush for this, that I do not use to brush my teeth with) an brush the enamel paint off the body it softens the paint an "lifts" it off the body. This stripper will not harm the plastic, its plastic compatable. I use this stuff extensively in my shop. I don't even bother with the alcohol strippers as they don't work on enamel. This is the best paint stripper I've found yet! Hope this helps!
