When the C & S took over operation of the UP D & G in 1899 one of the cars they were terribly short on was stock cars. This was rectified within a few years but since I model 1899we have only two (so far) stock cars. One has little weathering, indicating that it is a new car, shopped for the C & S in 1898/1899. The other looks like it has not had a wash down from the last big haul of sheep or cattle. John
Hopefully I won't catch you out in the pasture collecting samples to place inside to give this car an authentic smell. Speaking of the UPD&G, I have this old shipping voucher from them.
No...I won't go quite that far...or will I??? Now that voucher is a rare piece of paper...you always amaze me!! John
