...I did a post to a few guys here on doing a CSX SD-45, #8903. I've gotten it done an have run it, Thing is, I didn't have the oppertunity to get any good pictures of it till my friend Mike "6206_S1a" got a good digital camera that I had barrowed... THANKS Mike!

As for you all here are pictures of that loco since I got to get a few of it... ENJOY!

A good picture of the very front of it.... Shows up very well (I LOVE THIS CAMERA! And it isn't even mine! :D )

Paul & Ton, go to the inspection pit forum an have a look at my other pictures on topics I've made posts about to get help on a choice of a loco number, for particapation on Trainboard members, an others I had made topics for used or new parts from one time or another.....

As for painting Paul, That all I ever done for years was paint trains as I wanted them! I kept saving money till I could get into repairs as well. Now I have a full shop to custom biuld an paint anything that might come through the doors...One thing tho, it all takes time a pride in the work you do, being that the end result will show it! Take your time, have plenty of patients with things an all an the end result will suprise you! :D

Heres a picture of my "Big Bad" :D The name sake of my shop Yellowstone Hobby Repairs, My Yellowstone as they were B&O EM-1's... I cut up a $300 loco to make this.. It was a UP Big Boy till I got my paws on it! :D I got that loco when I was about 12 o 13 years old.... Began to cut on it 2 years after I had it....

A look of the front an back the side....

A close up of the cab an the detail inside....

And a broad side picture of my Western Maryland Challenger, that was a UP challenger an I took an customized it to look like the WM's M-2 Challengers, an got rid of the centapede tender which another trainboard member now has on a Bower Challenger...

    Pray,
The Challenger isn't the loco with a crew....YET :( It still has a good running old Rivarossi motor sticking out the back of the cab!

As for the loco with a crew, thats an EX. Union Pacific Big Boy, that I made into a Yellowstone "2-8-8-4" he has the full interior an crew, an if you look at that picture he also has a glowing firebox on each side which is glowing red dots on the fire box sides, an the butterfly doors open an close to sow the fire inside as the new Riv Allegheny has.... Hard to believe that Big Boy was from 1960! With my own added detail, an changed tender...

You got me!, you did a bait and switch, talking Malleys then a photo of the Challenger at the bottom and I spaced it out! Neat trick!

    Great job on the locos!

Nice job on that SD45! Is it an Athearn model?

I've got two SD45s sitting upstairs in the shops awaiting details and painting to become Frisco models- they're gonna run with an F9B spliced between them (much like the Frisco did). Now all I need is a decent digital camera- the only one we have is a WalMart cheapie we got for the boys to play with.

    Pray,
Those mallets are my pride an joy! One day all them will have all the same "standard" detail as the 7600 does, full cab interior an crews. And have the fire box glow, inside the cab an along the outside of the firebox itself.... All done with 2 red flickering LED's an some fine fiber optics, which the ends towards the LED's is painted turn signal red (for scale model cars an trucks) being that paint is transparent to let the light from the LED's shine through.

The 7600 showing the real detail is the pride of my shop "Yellowstone hobby Repairs" Its a "Yellowstone" type loco "2-8-8-4" in B&O of course! :D My all time favorite loco in real life (I just had to have a HO scale model of one!) And got the full 9 yards of detail to looked like the real one. It was made from an old Rivarossi Big Boy.... The pictures of the Yellowstone are the first 2 pictures. The Challenger picture is the last picture in that post of mine....

    Bob,
Yes, thats a Athearn SD-45....It was a fun paint job that took about 3 days to do... A "quicky" and turned out really decent. Its an older first generation Athearn tho, has the old motor old trucks outside bearing wheels etc.. But runs really good and isn't to noisey as alot of my Athearns are....

As you say tho, I wouldn't have these pictures online if it wasn't for a personal friend of mine, Mike "6206_S1a" with letting me barow his digital camera! Being the one I got is a el-cheapo as well. An doesn't take good clear pictures so... But I have plenty more to post so.... :D

Ok guys heres another one of the SD45....

And a another of my Challenger...

Another of the Challenger, compare the pilot to a Rivarossi UP Challenger, you'll see the work I done to this one to make it look identical to the Western Maryalnds Challengers... from what it once was....

And the next one, he sets proudly in my display case for articulateds...

and now I got some pictures of my 2-10-2's....
    Heres one of them...

and another of my 2-10-2 #6125.

And last but not least.... This picture shows the tender, an the can interior. Note: that the motor is no longer sticking out the back of the cab! I relocated it inside the boiler and also is no longer the "Rivarossi can motor" its got a new flat can motor of todays standards, 5 pole skew wound etc....

Way cool handiwork! Especially the steam locomotives!

For you TBers that haven't seen 'em yet, check out John's shots in the Inspection Pit- more good B&O goodies (MofW rolling stock).

Thanks Bob! I enjoy the posts an comments, plus the inparation to keep up my skills an gain more! :D Its a fun job, but someone has to do it... Being their is no local hobby shop within 20 to 30 miles of me or no repair shops either... not even within 100 miles of me so....

Another thing the members can do is open up Rail Images an click on albums, an go to my lil chuck of the site "John Patton" and they can see most of these pictures here all under my user name. But in Trainboard, they have explanations and titles an so forth...
