Hey, Does any other shells fit the Kato GP-38-2/GP-50 chassis? I don't have the heart to strip mine (one factory, one custom) but I want to update the roadnames. I watch Ebay but never see them. Thanks for your help. Bob.
I have struggled with the GP38-2 and GP50 mechanism by Kato. It is a good mechanism to run in a big lashup, IMHO. But my efforts have been to put the Kato shells on an Atlas GP38/ GP40-2 mechanism. I think it gives you a better operating engine than the slightly older Kato mechanism. Maybe this good idea is not the one you need right now?
Like Flash, I've fitted a few Kato GP50/GP38 shells onto Atlas GP40/40-2 mechanisms. I think that's the best way to go as the Kato mechs can be tempermental. ~Tim
