hi folks.... once more i need some help. i intend to build a n-trak module with a service and maintenance facility. i have two 'fuel and sanding station' kits (can't remember the manufacturer) along with a few building kits which resemble some maintenance buildings. now all i need is a good and well thought out track plan. (here's the list of pikestuff kits : - the shops - atkinson engine facility - small enginehouse - multi purpose building - modern yard office - two story office building micro engineering : - murphy manufacturing) the fuel and sanding station can either be side by side (4 tracks) or behind each other (2 longer tracks). also about 3-6 tracks will lead inside buildings. what i need to know : - trackplan - what buildings i need to add to further expand the yard - what size of turnouts #4, #6, #8 or even larger ? maybe some links to pictures, maps or similar would be of help. anyway, thank you in advance for your support

Sandro, you model CP right? If so, I believe it was the May N scale magazine had a "centerfold" photo of a present day CP rail fueling and service facility in Canada, gorgeous photo with a bunch of CP power in it, might help you out. If interested let me know, I'll check the date of the magazine again for sure tonight. Jan
jan this would be really helpful. unfortunaltey i'm not aware of any source selling this magazine over here. do you see any chance to scan the picture and email it to me ? i got my own mailserver so space or mail size are no issues
Sandro, I would be glad to give it a shot, monday I will be visiting family who may have the capability to scan it, I'll let you know than, if it won't work I'll mail you a copy of it (actual mail). By the way, it was May/June 2007 N Scale Magazine, get back to you soon, Jan
Sandro, looked at the photo and it has a link to: www.railpictures.net go to that site, run a search for road name: CP Rail, photographer is John Rice, State/country is Ontario, Canada, and use keyword "Thunder Bay" you'll hit a load of pictures of the fueling facility, too many for me to link here, its the same photo in the magazine!! (and many more you'll enjoy as a CP fan!) that should take care of it enjoy, Jan
Sandro, no problem. I actually noticed the photo in N scale is a bigger, better one than I can find on Rail pictures, so I'll try to scan it next week and get it to you. just send us some pictures of your module when its done!!! my best, Jan
i will not start building before end of september. until then i need every minute for my 'master of advanced studies' final exam.
