I grew up in Selma in the 1950s and 1960s. Selma is a crossing of the Atlantic Coast Line (CSX) and the Southern (NS). The ACL is north and south mainline; the SOU is a Raleigh-Morehead City Line. The line to Morehead City primairly serves Camp LeJune and Cherry Point, MCAS.

It is cold and rainy. Sleeted on me a little this morning.

Here is the restored station in Selma at the diamonds.

Here are the diamonds. The dual main line is CSX; the single is NS. The signal tower must be 50 years old or mor. Still in service. The industry in the distance used to be Gurley Milling Company. It is still in service and I counted 35-40 two and three bay covered hoppers there. It is a labyrinthian trackwork with no more than 4-5 cars on any track. This would be a very interesting structure to model.

Is that you? I go to Selma not enough to see my Mama. One of these days I want to meet you and see the Raleigh Rails, etc. Glad to have you back here; seems I missed your posts for a while. [IMG]

Flash, yep, it's me! If you can give me some advance notice on when you might want be coming, I'll certainly try and make arangements to get together and railfan. Selma is a pretty good spot, as you get some CSX and NS action. Rocky Mount is close and has a good sized yard to boot!

    Just let me know!
