I found both coupler on my SD75 does not open wide enough to accept MTL’s coupler as a matter of fact I try using the coupler on the snow plow that come with the loco it will not work either. Meaning AZL’s coupler will not work with its own coupler.

Does anybody out there have notice or experience the same problem?

If yes, how do you overcome this problem?

And will it be difficult to replace with a MTL coupler?

    Thanks

Tsa, I found two ways to couple a AZL coupler. One, is to smash them together, and the other is to lift the coupler, and drop it in. Replacing the snowplow coupler is easy. All you have to do is unscrew the AZL coupler, and replace it with a MTL coupler. With the rear coupler is a little harder. You have to remove the coupler, and sand the plastic thin enought so that the MTL coupler is in the proper height. Then glue a MTL coupler in place. The alternative is to order another snow plow set from AZL(ZTRAck), and dont use the snow plow. Use the pilot to mount a MTL coupler.

I've found out that the AZL Couplers doesen't work very long if you couple them often. :-(

You mean with the smash them together technique, right?

I haven't had any problems with the AZL coupler knuckles failing, but I use the lift up and drop over technique (not very convenient, but works). The only problem I have had is with the couplers separating vertically when going over the expansion tracks tracks between modules. You find the bad spots in the track real easy this way.
