I'm glad, though my wallet may still be in the ER after the SD70MAC's, Tunnel Motors, CZ and UP passenger trains... I'm getting to the point of begging my retailer to be out of stock to spare me the temptations that keep coming along! :D

    William,
As I've said before, "it's a good problem to have", but I'm in the same boat with all these releases. The 70MAC's and Atlas Coalveyors alone have kept me in the poor house for the past year and a half. I've yet to get any Tunnel Motors but I have two on order.

The UP and NS SD70M's aren't in my plans, and probably none of the SD70's or 70M's will be a purchase for me. If the ATSF SD75M/I are done I'll probably get one ATSF and maybe one BNSF, but that would be it.

It will be interesting what Athearn does with their SD70's. If they do the Spartan cabs, that will mean TWO NS units being released on top of each other. (assuming Athearn is close to announcing the details of theirs, which their advertisments indicate) I think the Athearn unit will be nice, they will likely learn from their mistakes with the F59PHI.

Bottom line, it looks like the SD70 drought is over, and I bet I'll get my warbonnets before long.

SD-70M's and SD38-2's ahhhh my poor bank card the torture it will endure [IMG] Saying that it is good to see both CNW and Alton & Southern for the 38's no need to repaint. It will be interesting to see if they do SD70's with standard cabs for IC and NS hmmmm

How many out there are waiting for non-flared/standard cab SD70M/75Ms?

I, for one, am. I may buy 1 flared UP unit, but they are too far out of my era.

Some SP, ATSF, and EMD SD70/75Ms, though - I've been waiting and waiting for those! Hopefully we'll be seeing them before too long now that Kato has the chassis!

I was happy to see this announcement by Kato... I might get a couple of NS and UP SD70M's ;) I saw the HO SD38-2 announcement as well, which means that they could come in N scale. (They use the same chassis as the SD40-2's.) Does anyone else remember that when Kato had announced the SD40-2's, they said they were going to do many different varieties or phases?

Yup.I will be getting a few.70M's and AC4400's.I'm extra glad Kato is doing both.I have a few 6 axle Atlas units, and they have always been problematic for me.(I guess others have had better luck)
Do I dare say that my motive power wants will be filled with these releases?I really can't think of anything I would really need now.

  13. Hmmmm......SD70M's with Flares in VARR Black and Silver......

Almost makes a man want to transpose his 1981-ish railroad to 2004, eh?
