Folks, I have a small number of EARLY production SD40 units from Kato, the ones that were not DCC-ready. Will the new-production mech fit the older shell? I have a possible source for Algoma Central SD40's under 60 bucks that may donate thair mech's to make my BN and Q units DCC-friendly. The AC shells will then be repainted.... [ 21. I don't remember the name of the place, but they have come to all the Denver GATS shows that I can think of, and every time they come, they have stupid-cheap deals on nice engines. Geep 20's for 25 bucks, B23-7HH's for 30, Kato SD40-s for 50, etc. They have a huge banner on poles that says something like 80%-off sale....
Hemi, Scott's right.... I used this trick to DCC my custom painted SD45's by using the new chassis' from SD40's. Harold
