I have just finished scratchbuilding the McGiffert Log Loader, took me quite a long time, but here it is. The Mcgiffert Log loader travels under it's own steam to an area, raises it's wheels and sits on the outside of the track. This enables skeleton log cars to be driven underneath. When one car is loaded, the loco pulls forward so the next car can be loaded, and so on until all cars are loaded. The Loco then takes the load away, and the Mcgiffert log loader lowers it's wheels and goes to the next place to start all over again. Note the wheels up on the left hand side. Yes, they also come down to the track.
You always surprise us with your great workmanship and photographic skills Paul. We sure do like to see them.
