Very impressive! Details and scaling really sell it. Painted up and sooted up, it should be outstanding even more!!
Phil, You have made me feel good, I thought this sort of thing was a forgotten art. When I had a layout, evert structure, bridge, whateveer, was scratchbuilt, and I am convinced it was simpler and faster than putzing around with kits. As to painting, an airbrush will make short work of that.
Your coal dock looks great! It looks like you have lots of hours invested into construction and detailing.
Thank you very much for your kind responses! Yes rray, I have many hours invested in this. I think that kits are a bit of a faf at times regarding getting fitment correct, but I think they have improved lots. Believe me this has taken much longer than a kit would have!
I understand completely. I actually have a Coal Dock under construction myself, and have been working on it for 6 months so far. In fact I am on my 3rd revision of the build, just trying to get it to look correct.
