Jon, as someone has said, 'just when I thought your layout could not get any better.......' Amazing what a difference a few modest changes can make, especially foliage. A pity I now live too far away to see it in person (unless you plan to exhibit in Slovenia!)
Alan, if you can't come to the layout, maybe the layout can come to you... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lypxFaF_7s8 Jon
Thanks Jon, I needed my Sweethome 'fix' Like the hat (and the braces!) - and Phil is quite distinctive, isn't he! I am sure there is an industry on the layout named in my honour, but cannot remember what it was, or find the pics I took. Can you remind me please?
Thanks for the pictures Jon. Can't find mine - but that was before I started backing up everything twice - on two external hard drives!
I thought I'd finish off this thread with some sepia photographs of the layout, including some of the new board in the East yard. My son added some crumpled newspaper to the layout before the show a couple of weeks ago and some may show up in the photos - I haven't found them all yet. Jon
I'm helping a pal out with his large (for the UK) HO Pennsy layout at Gateshead show in three weeks and he's short of stock. Not only am I taking the Sweethome freight cars, but I'm feverishly detailling about 60 1940's-era cars and some B&O cabooses for the layout. After that I have a couple of months to build another couple of 3inch wide boards for the front of the layout before it travels again. Oh, and Sweethome Alabama may be at a show next year so I have a load of trees to build(plant) Jon
