I am looking for 1 1/2" scale leaf springs to be used for wood beam passenger trucks. Does anyone know where I could buy these springs or know who might be able to make them? Thank you, David Boyd
I have several live steam catalogues and I seem to remember seeing leaf springs from one manufacturer, I think...I'll have to flip through them again and see if I can find them for you. I'll get back to you... Derek
You might look into Saxophone and Clarinet springs....they use a apring on those that might be sufficient if you mount it right. If you ask a music store, have them point out the palm keys, which are played by the left hand. Look under those, and those are them. They are a type of leaf, and if mounted right, you might be able to mount a series of them with the axle assemblys under that. Hope you find a scale manufacturer...that will be easier. [ 13. Sorry I took so long, but I DID find your leaf springs. "Real Trains" of Yucaipa, CA sells leaf 1-1/2" and 2-1/2" leaf springs made for converting their freight trucks to caboose or passenger trucks. They sell an informative catalog or you can look at on the web. They have a very wide selection of other live steam parts, too. www.realtrains.com Mountain Car Company also sells smaller, dummy leaf springs. www.mountaincar.com Good Luck! Derek
