My friend Martin Hansen posted on another board the news that George Lavacot's Santa Maria Valley 2-6-2 No. 205 ran under her own power yesterday. I witnessed a steam up of 205 back in September last year, but the main rods were not connected. They are now and she has run. Certainly hope that George can find a home for her where she can run more than what she can there in Independence, OR. My photo from last year.

Maybe the guys at OERM Orange Empire Railway museum would lend their track or the Filmore Western?

The OERM only has a few miles, not worth it to me

Better than nothing. Look at the all the many fine steam engines that could be in operation but are instead not being cared for or left to the elements.

I think there is less than a mile left of the track George can access. Pretty sure he and Martin are dealing with tourist roads to find a home for her. Once she gets painted up she'll be pretty, and the right size for tourist ops.

She is already real purty!! A little make up will just make her purtier!! Dang! The Circle branch here is just sitting unused, for about 30 miles of awesome high plains and badlands....sure do wish that there was a way to get something like this here!
