for the Rock blue days whats the correct way to have the trailer named? The Rock or Route Rock? i intend to make a roadrailer trailer for it as a heritage trailer for my modern SP and want to do it the right way. thanks for any help
Good question. I believe "The Rock" was essentially their nickname for company promotion and PR. Route Rock being more of a slogan used by sales department, etc. Underneath, it was still the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific RR Company. Boxcab E50
so which would you reccomend? the decal sheet comes with both so i can do either... i saw 2 pics on RRpicturearcheves.net and the had The Rock and the athearn kit had Route Rock...
I have always seen the Route ROCK style. Never seen one that said The Rock. I know employees didnt like calling it the Rock, thats an insurance company lol. Route ROCK was a marketing department thing. Trying to make shippers route over the CRI&P so they could get some revenue. Just hard to do at the end with the poor track and Directed service BS.Id go the Route Rock way but if you find pictures and like the other way thengo for it. If you do it like the UP with their "styalized" Heritage units you could have a ball making up something for your road railer. Good luck and pics please.
here are links to facebook for the roadrailers i also have a ROCK heritage ACe painted in the blue and white scheme... for my heritage units i decided to use schemes that each company actually used Route Rock https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...92887831.49426.113226432073791&type=1&theater The Rock https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!...92887831.49426.113226432073791&type=1&theater ROCK ACe https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...91476595.20781.113226432073791&type=1&theater
