I was flipping through the new MR and saw that IHC is re-releasing the Alco C415s that ATT did years ago. I have no idea if they have improved the drive any, but at least these rare models will be redially available in plastic again. And if anyone wants one custom painted in Spokane, portland and Seattle, drop me a line.

For all you brit's, you can order these direct from Mehano in slovenia, they work out about £30...I still have an old one in store though...the original plan was for a SP&S/BN one, but I like the Rock Island's as well!

This is my favourite paint scheme of the latest batch! Lime green! Cool! :D

I have 2 of the older C-415's! Not in the best of shape when I got them however I used the old motor casing in the truck, and reinstalled a new better armature and all and reworked the gearing so my old ones run pretty well now!

One was a Santa Fe all blue with the double yellow stripe and lettering.. However its now freelanced B&O all blue with the double dulux gold stripes and lettering! :D

And the other was an all black Pennsy, And that one is now a freelanced Western Maryland all black with the dulux yellow striping and letter (kinda like the diesel Fireball sceme) :D

John, so yours had a truck mounted (pancake?) motor?
Mine was in the Santa Fe stripe scheme you describe, but came with a centre can motor, (no flywheels and a very cheap motor!)

Wonder what the current versions have?

<font color="336633">Mine had the central motor as well, but I have replaced it with a 5 pole machima motor and flywheels.... although they don't have much effect on the loco as the truck gearing is not exactly free running

But I only paid a tenner for it so I suppose I cant complain.

Does the wheelbase of these match anything useful, I was thinking things like the Atlas RS11? Anyone know?

Yeah both of the 2 I have has the truck mounted pancake motor! And did run with it but not to my standards so I fixed up the pancakes with new stronger armatures and all... And better brushes, souped it up alittle. But my trucks are free rolling decent gearing in them! :D Mine are dated to be I think in the books of 1967... I'll have to look that year up to be sure but I think its right.... You's guys have the newest version over mine. the next upgrade from the version I have...
