I was reading the new ctc board magazine and it said that the first sd70macs were comming in for their first rebuild.It also stated that the BNSF has set back money for many of them to get repainted.Does this mean the end to my favorite 70mac paint scheme?Hopefully they will be repainted into eddie bauer again but as we all know they will probably be H2's.Dangit another of my favorite paint schemes is going to be only a memory.Remember the Freedom Fighter
There are an awful lot of 70MAC's, so they will be around with their distinctive colours for a while yet Personally, I am not too keen on the scheme Sorry!
Hmmmm... i hope they don't repaint em into H2. Hopefully they'll just come out looking fresh as new. Whenever i spot a set of 70s i always look for the real low numbered 9400s to see how they are holding up...
Now coming from a UP fan (and modeler), I have to say that the BN cream & green on the 70MACs is one of the sharpest looking schemes I have ever seen. If anybody decided to come out with a model of this loco in either HO or N, I would need to have one. Unfortunately, those that get rebuilt will most likely have new H2 paint - just the way it is folks.
I bet they will be showing up in the H2 scheme unfournately. My only question ismy baby the vomit bonnet going to victimized by this.
