Recieved 2 new FVM UP gevos. The quality of the paint and detail is wonderful. After installing the decoders i took them for a run. One was smooth and quiet and the other was a little noisy but also ran smooth. I expect that one to quiet down after some break in time just like the other 4 i have. The color of the UP unit is lighter than Katos but FVM seems to have it down pat, atleast to my eyes. Matt has done a wonderful job on these units. The next ones for me will be the BNSF swoosh units. Some of them seem to have been in helper service for a while or else running on coal trains. I have not seen a gevo on a UP coal train while I was in western Nebraska, but I imagine they have been in the PRB several times. Point is make them dirty!!! If I ever decide to get a BNSF GEVO it will be very dirty, covered in the oil they spray onto the coal cars mixed with heavy coal dust as well as dirt. Maybe the occasional bird dropping or paintball! Sometimes it is interesting to see how accurately those birds can be at splattering door handles or windshields...
