Article from my local paper (not train-related): http://www.startribune.com/local/46138642.html Who else sees a row of model buildings here?
I see what you mean. Taking photos of such structures is something which we should do more often. Boxcab E50
Very typical, and very nice. I've been driving a route that starts in Albuquerque, goes through Oxford, Ohio, and may end up in Boston or Decatur, Alabama. I vary the route each time, and have had a few detours off the Interstates due to accidents, and my own inclinations to explore. Stroudt and Miami OK, Vandalia', IL, Brookville and Richmond IN, Oxford and Decatur, Wayneboro, MO--all have architecture closely resembling the old DPM kits and some of Walthers. There's been more towns, of course, with the same architecture. I just don't recall them now.
This is in Cripple Creek, CO: Not as colorful, but when I saw this, I said to myself "DPM must have been here!" Greg
Except for the autos, either of those scenes would be appropriate for most any era you wanted to model. Unfortunately, finding scenes to photo that haven't been "modernized" to the extreme is getting tough. Ben
