Hello everyone! Hope all is going well. Here are the selections. Fitz with the three Mt. Rainier locos Carl Sowell who found this neat roster shot r_i_straw with an old Steamtown view co_riff with a rather out of place BNSF unit YoHo with SP E9 6051 and inch53 with the TP&W's Gilman, IL station
Great selection again, Bill. The steam shots are nice, like the three Mt. Rainier engines. My fave remains that big SP 4-8-2. It really looks like a no-nonsense, all-business machine.
Thanks for selecting my photo and highlighting those cool photos posted by others. Those little tea kettles are especially fascinating. I have no idea what possessed me, as a 12 year old kid, to get down on the ground and take that low angle shot looking up at the locomotives with my Kodak Brownie. In the mean time, my dad was taking pictures of things like valve gear, fire pans, air compressors and such. He eventually went on to scratch build O scale locomotives, so I guess he was collecting documentation.
I apologize if this photo is posted in the wrong spot but after numerous attempts to get it into Rail Images, and my own album, I am stumped. I took this one in the Fraser Canyon a few years ago when I spotted the Royal Hudson hammering up the line, one summer day. A very rare treat for me! Bill
tayder, great photo of Hudson 2816. I suspect that the reason it will not load is because of the file size. I can't remember the limit offhand, but if there is a way you can reduce the size of the original file, I think it will load into your RI album.
Thanks Bill for including mine. I am like Mike in that the 4-8-2 just screams SP in the 40's. I used to go to the roundhouse with my dad and saw these first hand. what a thrill for a 6-7 year old. Carl
No harm done. Normally LegomanBill does the photo selection for this weekly topic. If desired, any Administrator can re-locate this you. It can go in several categories.
