I would like to comment on more than one each week but have just decided to say how much I appreciate this thread and all the photos. Great captions again, too, as usual.
The two 68s on the Ramsden Dock branch reminded me of that day A married couple were walking a couple of dogs and had left their SUV parked across the track down by the boundary gate. I said to them " Better move your car, there is a train coming".As the branch line is used so rarely they looked at me in disbelief " Trains don't use this track anymore?" "Quiet, and listen, Listen for the 'Big Cats' which they did and soon the rumble of the two Caterpillar C175/16s convinced them to move the car There are a couple of sound files available for DCC decoders for the Dapol 00/H0 scale model of the 68s but they aren't quite right. I said to the guys at the local model railroad club " they should sound ilke a washing machine on spin with a pair of safety boots in it" Kev
Great photos, and of course the fun captions along with them. I'd swear that loco was looking both ways before crossing... It's kinda creepy when the headlights on an engine look like eyes... That one made me laugh out loud. At least now we know his heart is coal-fired. Sort of like my washing machine when it's thrashing around at 850 rpm on an unbalanced load... Scares the heck out of the upstairs neighbor...
Thanks Sepp. Most of the time, it takes longer to select the pictures. Usually, the captions are there and write themselves. Occasionally I do struggle to find them though. Just knowing you all enjoy thread every week makes me happy.
I enjoy the photos as well as the captions. We will endeavor to provide you with material to help promote your happiness.
As someone who's never accused of creativity, and struggles with basic where-what-when lines, I appreciate this every week.
