I was thinking of buying a piece of ME bridge flex to add to my Atlas code 55 layout and was Google Searching information on it. Wow, there is some real negative stuff posted in other forums. I even read about clubs ripping it up and destroying it because it was damaging their Bigboys. Anyway I’m only taking it lightly because there is also some positive stuff as well.

I just want a single piece of flex for a bridge or two. Is there anything I might need to be aware of before connecting it to my Atlas C55.

WOW I have never heard of track damaging locomotives before. My experience, which is limited, has been great. I have used both the code 70 and the code 55 bridge track and it seems to be just like any other flex track. I even used the code 70 on a friends NTRAK module I built for him, even though only code 80 is allowed. We put every different kind of locomotive, car, wheel set, trucks we could get through it and it worked fine. It was also on the our little used mountain division so we didn't feel it was completely necessary to follow the rules. The nice thing about the ME bridge flex track is that it has little bumps on the ties to help you line up the guard rails. So far it has worked flawless for me. Hope this helps!
