If I use two power routing switches say Kato #4s. (DC Layout). Do I leave the siding without any track feeders since the juice is coming from the main? Also with two power routing switches must both turnouts at each end need to be lined for the same route to prevent a short?

    Don:

I would still drop feeders to the siding to insure that there's the proper voltage running through the siding.

Given the congiguration illustrated, power will be routed to the siding if either turnout is set to the diverging route, and would be dead if both turnouts were set to the main.

Note that if both turnouts were set to the siding, the section of the main between the turnouts would be dead.

As there is no revering section (loop or wye) there is no possibility of a short based on turnout settings.
