...to introduce myself; I'm a man of limited means and off-beat tastes. (h/t to the Stones). I've returned to model railroading after 40-odd years away, spurred on by the re-collection of my first train, Tyco's 1966-ish "Pacemaker East" set, and the release/re-release of the 1:87 Munsters House, Bates Mansion, and Addams Family House kits. Which may explain my 5x9 HO DCC layout, a mix of the classic "HO Railroad that Grows" and scary movies/tv shows situated in 'Pennsylfornia' in 1955-1960. Happy to be here on TrainBoard!
Welcome aboard. Your description is quite tantalizing, I just hope you went to a better school of train handling than Gomez did!
Thanks, everyone, for your kind words! Yes, Hytec, it's a bit eclectic. I started with the Bates mansion and was inspired to scratch-build a matching Bates Motel. It just steamrolled from there... will post more about it all separately... Fitz, the combo name originates from having lived most of my life in those two states--and the PRR/RDG/SP/UP locos on my layout... Jim J. -- the layout's still in early stages, but I'll put up pics of one or two buildings* and keep the board posted with progress... Eagle2, while Gomez' layout was dynamite (heh), and helped inspire mine, I try to avoid collisions. I mostly succeed... *I've set up a media album (Pennsylfornia's "Creepy Hollow Junction") to introduce the layout, and have posted a YT video here for those who like to see model trains in action.. Happy to be here... -Rick
