Posted this on "how many engines..." but thought it may be more fitting here. 721 West nearing the top of the climb from Ft Macleod. The midtrains will stay with the train to assisit it through the sag at Burmis and over the summit cutting out at Sentinal. The tail end helpers cut off on the fly here and run light back to Ft. Macleod. Forgive the scenery it is in the initial rough stage. grant 721 West nearing the top of the grade. Midtrain helpers on 721 West. Tail end pushers about to cut off on the fly. Well, it's also my signature, but here is a larger picture of my ABBA set of NP FTs. They have been modified and repainted to represent the locomotives in the mid-Fifties. Oops! I don't know if these qualify as "multiple" units since the NP considered them one locomotive....at least initially.
Great shots, everybody! Another Santa Fe lashup: I mean, from a Santa Fe railfan's perspective, it just doesn't get too much better than the elegant PA1s in Warbonnet.
Those, unfortunately, are my only 3 big road diesels. They'd probably look neat on the front of a long train, but I don't have the layout space for anything over 20 cars. Not to mention they all run at vastly different speeds. I can't wait to DCC them and get them all close enough that the SD70 isn't dragging the SD40s as dead weight mg:
I wonder if this train loaded at Milpitas, CA, where the Ford FAST from the D&RGW terminated and brought loads east?
I know this is an old thread but I like it. So I'm posting something recent of mine.... "OS Boylston. 205 West by at 3:24 p.m."
