Hey everyone, I have been asked by a customer to do these beauties in N-Scale.They would be a one piece resin body with MTL trucks and Z-Scale couplers. I was curious if others were interested in this car also. Regards boB Knight
Like he said. I have only a slim idea of what you mean. Oh, and cost? I own at least 40 of the Atlas 70 ton or cars.

Thanks Criss. Yes, I could see 3 of them in undecorated RTR at $10 maybe $15. I don't have the vision to assemble a kit.
I would be interested as I was thinking of doing them myself. In fact I bought an HO car to scale down. How about crunching some numbers for pricing information. I'd be interested in maybe 30-40 undecorated without trucks and couplers depending on price. I also know of some people who do not have internet access who also may be interested. Let me know.
Not sure of the cost yet, I just started layout on the styrene. Once the master is made, I will start the mold and the etched brass masters. Shouldn't take long, but I wanted to know if it was viable project. I have no problem providing the kit as a basic and a deluxe (w/ trucks & couplers). I thought the deluxe would be preferable to builders so they had two less things to worry about purchasing.
Personally I would like to see all manufacturers offer rolling stock less trucks and couplers. It reduces the price of the car for one thing and allows the modeller to use the truck/coupler combination of his own choosing. I find I am buying less and less of the Atlas cars because I simply do not need or want any more Accumate or Rapido couplers.
