I think I have finally made the decision to use Peco 83 Line track for my layout.

I was wondering if anyone has used it and what their thoughts are.

Can anyone explain if either the insulfrog or electorfrog turnouts would be better for a DCC system.

    Thanks...

Until now, I've used only the new Peco 83 turnouts #6. Electrofrog of course. I want to run little engines too. With electrofrog you have nearly always four wheels at each side. With an 0-6-0 at least three wheels. Let be some dirt and you loose power with insulfrog.
Of course, you have to route power via switch to the frog. I use Tortoise or manual thrown advice. This manual mechanism has a switch for frog polarity.
    DCC reacts faster for shorts.

I´ve just done some 30 3-track modules with PECO code83 rails.
Switches are of the electrofrog-typ - for the same reasons as Wolfgang wrote.

24 of the modules under construction :)

[IMG] That's an extensive project! What is the end goal? Is this a club effort? Or something you've undertaken alone?

Yes - I do it all by myself - sometimes with a little help of my 15 year old son.

My freelance "Port Of Lynchbany Bay" - POLB - railroad will have some 90 meters of modules till the end of 2006.
From the station of Lynchbany to NewHarbour

Because I´m selling a lot of module-kits to modelrailroaders in some European countrys, modules are easy to build and not very expensive for me.
