One time I painted two MRL GP30's for a guy and they looked pretty sweet. That scheme is really attractive. Did Atlas make a high and low nose version of the MRL SD35's?
Paul, it will bring logs to the lumber mill. I will be repainting one of my spare GP35's to accompany it. Yes, I will acquire a MRL caboose, they look great
Thanks for your compliments Larry. your SD35 looks excellent wouldn't mind oneof those for myself. Did MRL ever have low nose SD35's??? If they did i wouldn't be suprised if Atlas releases a model in the future.
Paul, The four SD35s that the MRL owns are all low noses. The 701, 702, 703 & 705 have all been chopped! The last photo I've seen of the four together show only the 703 with the Lions Head logo.
That pretty blue and black. Reminds me of the sister railway IMRL which went by the wayside and now the IC&E runs.... My how I miss the IMRL... Won't be for long if they get those coal trains running through here!
Love those units! Nice work! That really is a sharp color scheme. Paul, that all-MRL train running on that beautiful layout is AWESOME!! Alan, I know how it is to suddenly have a hankering for something that's somewhat out of place on your layout (not that MRL could not have run-thru or lease power in the LA area). I've always liked the look of CP and CN locos. I REALLY dig those CN C44-9W's with the EMD-stlye windshields! Somebody please tell me they've seen one running in California before! (I know....it's my railroad and I can run what I want! ) Russ [ 08. May 2003, 15:29: Message edited by: tehachapifan ]
