    Jim,
With the avatar under my screen name. you know I was gonna say "The B&O" but I guess its all your choice! :D I'm working on a B&O passenger consist myself! Or well I should say 4 actually!

I have to finish my old tymer passenger to a 4-4-0, which consists of 6 old tyme passenger cars.

Then a latter version thats pulled by a 4-6-0, thats also 6 cars in the consist. Thats from 1900 to 1919.

Then the latest steam version from the 1930's to the 1950's pulled by a 4-6-2.

And then the last one.. thats 22 cars long, thats from 1959 till the end of B&O passenger runs thats pulled by 4 E-8's "A-B-B-A" that will finsh the job! :D

Then to model the dinky Western Maryland passenger consist that was but 2 cars long pulled by a light 4-6-2. Which isn't to big but an odd modeling....

And to finish my "Chessie Steam Special" consist.. What a bunch of passengers to be started and to get just one completed is a real job! :D

    John,

What brand and model did you use for each of your passenger consists?

I have been thinking about running a WM passenger consist, but there is not much information on the web about WM passenger service. I was also thinking about switching to B&O and putting together a passenger train. I haven't really settled on a time period.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Norm

Norm, heres a listing from a copy and paste fropm my previous posting with brands of loco's and passenger cars....

I have to finish my old tymer passenger to a 4-4-0, which consists of 6 old tyme passenger cars. The 4-4-0 is a Mantua "General", and the cars so far are 1 Bachmann coach, and 3 Mantua coaches, and a Mantua combine. All are celestory roof with the skylights, not round roofs!

Then a latter version thats pulled by a 4-6-0, thats also 6 cars in the consist. Thats from 1900 to 1919. The 4-6-0 is also a Mantua loco, and the cars are MDC "Old Tymers" thats the 34 foot Overton passenger cars 6 cars in set, plus old tymer box car, for baggage/mail etc.

Then the latest steam version from the 1930's to the 1950's pulled by a 4-6-2. The 4-6-2 is also a Mantua loco, only this one is a Mantua Collectable "President Washington" and I also have the Mantua Collectable "President Adams" as well. For the passenger cars, currently they are the 1920's Celestory roof heavy weight Athearn cars, with a mix of a few round roof cars to match. I want to take these cars and replace them with the big Rivarossi or AHM celestory roof passenger cars to match the painting thats on the current Athearn cars. All in time with funding permitting! And then later on get another Mantua 4-6-2 to paint all blue to model this same train as the B&O's famous "Royal Blue"

And then the last one.. thats 22 cars long, thats from 1959 till the end of B&O passenger runs thats pulled by 4 E-8's "A-B-B-A" that will finsh the job! These 4 diesel loco's are Rivarros E-8's, 2 A units and 2 B units! I must thank Trainboard's own "Watash" for getting me the B units under presure of taking an entire auction just to get me the B units! The cars once this is started, (being all I have at the very moment are 2 Rivarossi E-8 "A" units) The cars will be the Athearn cars I have, with the round roof heavy weights replaced with the same type car, only celestory roof ones! And the round roof cars will go to my MOW train as crew cars!

Then to model the dinky Western Maryland passenger consist that was but 2 cars long pulled by a light 4-6-2. Which isn't to big but an odd modeling.... The Western Maryland 4-6-2 is an IHC "Mehano" model, with 2 Athearn Passenger cars that I custom painted. These cars were dark green "Brunswick Green" or "Pullman Green" with gold lettering, numbers and striping...One of the 2 cars is a RPO/Baggage, and the other is a coach. The WM used 1920's celestory roof cars, and never had round roof cars so.. I got to use my favorite type passenger cars to model this short train!

And to finish my "Chessie Steam Special" consist.. What a bunch of passengers to be started and to get just one completed is a real job![/B] The loco is a custom made Rivarossi 4-8-4, painted as the Chessie "T-1" 2101, that was originally an EX. Reading loco. I had custom made the side flarings and painted them along with the boiler, cab and tender. Using my own choice of matching/fitting decals. I have not yet found a AUX. tender to supply extra water to the loco as the real train had, so I haven't modeled this! For the passenger cars, these are IHC cars that were factory painted by IHC, only I had repainted them, to make all the colors from the loco match the colors of the cars. Colors are in the same locoations, just repainted for shade of the yellow, blue, and orange that I used to paint the loco. Then again decaling with decals that I choose to fit each car thats already made factory. That I followed the origianal cars from pictures of the real train, not worrying about how IHC had the cars painted. I still have yet to finish 4 cars to this set.

Edit: Forgot to mention.. HTH If you want to talk more about these modelings, feel free to e-mail me at the address in my signature... I'll be glad to help! We can then discuss this and see what your looking into modeling and so on....

Thanks for the info. Let me digest this and then I'll decide where I want to go.

Unfortunately, at the rate I am improving my fleet and layout, it may be a couple of years before I get around to it.

Sorry Jim, I could not understand your question. Could you please edit your post, or write a new one and clear things up. I'd really like to help.
