I know all about HO, and the advantages of Railpower and Athearn products for kitbashing, but could you possible construct a Dash 9 from scratch in N scale? Who makes such major components as frames and trucks etc. in N scale? Or would it be ludicrous? Just a thought
Cool! I need a couple fuel tanks for future projects. Derek: I don't see why you couldn't build a unit from the ground up. Most manufacturers offer almost everything as a spare part from trucks and motors to frames and shells. Add to that a whole plethera of aftermarket items and you could do anything your skill level, patience and checkbook will let you. Just might take some fiddling to get what you want. Great way to kitbash some things though.
