Hello all, out of the blue today, i decided i wanted something to do! So what else could i do? Build a diorama! But what of? one of my favorite places in the State of Colorado. Palmer Lake. I decided upon the Switch at the Summit and in Palmer lake which leads from the double mainlines to single track. I have a 1.5" thick piece of Foam. It is 1'x3' So i plan to model from the switch north to the Crossing. Not to big, but still a nice challenge. I will be posting updates here as the work peruses. Keep an eye out!
I was duped! I was expecting to see awesome pictures. Guess I'll have to wait. Looking forward to some pics!
My Hero! Sure wish I could help you build the railroad up there! Most of us are not familiar with Palmer Lake, so a photo or two, or a sketch of the track plan would help lots! I found those plastic knives with the saw teeth, that come with carry out food dishes, will saw right through foam like a bandit! They are great for shaping foam and do not make a lot of dust. Save the chunks, bits, and pieces in a grocery bag, for packing delicut items for storage, mailing, or Chtistmas. Just tie the lifting loops together. Vacuum any tiny bits.
The END Sad to say it. But Sh*t happens and i cannot afford to make this anymore. Sorry for no pictures. Maybe again someday.
