Joe's gel, which I think is simply orange hand cleaner with grit, works well on decals and some paints. I have used it successfully to remove factory-painted lettering from Walthers and Athearn cars. However, a friend used it on some MDC Roundhouse cars and it also took off the base paint. I'm told it does not work on Bachmann lettering, although I have no first-hand experience. Test on a small area first, hidden if possible, and work slowly. And, you can buy a lot of hand cleaner for what Joe charges for a small tub. Good luck.

keyrail the joes gel is decent for small number and letter removel and yes it does seem very similar to fast orange. if you are wanting total paint removal i have found that chameleon stripper works the best now. it is sorta expensive but well worth the price as it is plastic safe(yes kato safe) and reusable . if interested it is www.chameleonproductsonline.com and it does the small letter and number removal jobs too!
