    Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to put this, but I thought you all might be interested in it.

A while ago, I received an email from a group that I am a part of. In the email, someone was asking if there was anyone that could create a magazine "inventory" program where you could enter all the magazines that you may own and keep track of them all.

Well, being the web developer that I am, I deceided to start a website for this. There will be many features and most of them are listed below:

--Your personal collection: login to add, edit, delete or view your personal collection

-- search your personal collection by keywords or comments that you enter to find a "missing" article in a magazine.

-- if users make their collections "public" other users can view their collections.

There will most likely be many more features in here but this is just the start. On Tuesday or Wednesday, I will probably have a link to the site you all can see it. If you have any suggestions, let me know or email me at matt.millican@internetmill.com or on AIM sn: migilligan06.

    Matt

    Matt,
I think your idea is pretty good, however Trains.com has a wonderful magazine database which you have probably heard about. I use it a lot, it would be nice if I could use it for just my personal collection of magazines, but since that is somewhat limited in size, the chances of actually having the article I need are somewhere around 50/50.

At the moment I keep a database into which I enter the name and location of articles with content I think I might find useful in future. I also put a couple of keywords (like construction, weathering, etc) which I can search on.

I also paste text of useful info out from places like Trainboard into a Word document, and put pointers to those into the database as well.

But it's not very organised at the moment, so I'd certainly be interested in your 'product' Matt.

    Hi all,
I am getting close to finishing this project and will be needing some "beta" testers soon. I just have a few more things to add and then want to do some "layout" stuff for it(make it look nicer).

I would like to have about 5 people test the site for me. You can enter your own collection and tell me what you think. Once most of the things are solved, I will post the link so that everyone can go register for the site, it's FREE!. If you would like to test the site, please email OFF LIST at matt.millican@internetmill.com. I only want about 5-6 people. Hopefully I'll be able to get atleast 1 admin(Charlie or Paul or others). Thanks
    Matt

    Hi all,
    Just a really brief update.
Due to some problems with my host over the weekend, I was not able to work on the site. I should have the server back up and running by tomorrow afternoon sometime. Since the server was down also, I was not able to receive emails to the address that I posted above. If you need to contact me about the site, please email mmillican@wi.rr.com. Thanks
    Matt

PS. Still looking for 2-3 more testers. Thanks
