Wasn't sure where to post the thread so I ended up here. Anyhow I was looking at the N scale hoppers by FVM and tried to google to find the era but no such luck even trying a few different search methods. Anyone have era handy? curious if fits my new era range. thank you
It looks to me that they range from the 70's to the present. This page (http://www.actionroad.net/DRGWLPD/MOW/CSUX.html) mentions the 1980's This page (https://books.google.com/books....) mentions 1976 This page (http://rrpicturearchives.net) has photo dates of 1987 - 2014 Not all are the hopper type in question Those are just 3 that a Google search produced using the term "Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper" Gary
Not to hijack the thread, but I saw an empty unit coal train pass through Columbia, SC yesterday and could see two train lines. You can see them to the left, between the couplers. This made me curious. Why two lines? Thank you. BTW, the red ends mark the rotary coupler ends. I guess these cars can be bottom dumped or rotary dumped depending on the receiving plant.
