Just thinking out loud. Wondering- What freight cars are available, that might be best suited for use when emulating a Maine Two Footer? Any of the B-mann stuff reasonable? Or is that more oriented to Colorado Narrow Gauge RRs? Looking for box cars that are in the 28-34 foot length. Flat cars 26-28 foot...... Boxcab E50
You know, I think the length is right, but they may be too wide. My box cars are 24' by 8'. Now, I set them on HO scale wheelsets to bring them down to the ground, just as is seen on most 2 and 3' lines. What was the average width for cars on the 2' lines? John
John- It's my understanding that most M2F freight cars were about 6' 6" in width. Just wondering, as B-Mann is supposedly coming out with a M2F style Forney this Fall. If so, there'll need to be some appropriate scaled cars? I'd believe.... Boxcab E50
Yeah I had heard they were doing a Forney-like model. That will be too cool. I have not heard much about rolling stock for them though. My guess is that they will use the same rolling stock as they have now...so kitbashing will be the way to go (as usual!!).
I know I've seen some Maine 2foot models advertised somewhere, but can't remember(it must be an age thing!). Check some of the issues of Narrow Gauge Gazette.
That's right, NS &SL does advertise 2' rolling stock, but I think it is all HOn3?? Guess I better have a look at my back issues... John
If you guys spot an ad in NG&SLG, please let me know. I've never been a subscriber. :embarassed: Boxcab E50
