Can anyone tell me what the distance between truck centers is for an MP-15AC and an F7-B unit? I am seriously thinking about modeling an MP-15AC in N scale. I have an old Bachman+ F7-B unit to use as a base, but I will probably have to somehow shorten the chassis. I need to know by how much. [IMG]

"The Contemporary Diesel Spotter's Guide" how has a permanent place here on the computer desk [IMG]

    MP15AC - 49' 2" long w/ 24' 8" truck centres.

I don't have the older guides and am not sure of the F units truck spacing but I would suspct they are longer. Longer truck centres make for smoother high speed riding. The shorter spacing on the MP15AC is for slow speeds and tight curves.

Anyone have the demensions for the F units?

Check out the train mag index for MP15 articles. RMC ran a kitbash article for HO in 1996 - I don't know what was used - anyone seen that article?
