    Hello all,

Can someone tell me a little bit more about Oliver Passman's passenger car ighting units. Unfortunately, I do not speak German, so a translation of the main points will be welcome

Is this a kit or does it only come installed. It looks like it is or can be battery powered. Any and all details are appreciated!

Also if anyone has disassembly instructions for the AZL surfliners for lighting, that would be appreciated too.

    Thanks,
    Ajay

    Hello Ajay,

What you see as battery is a goldcap, that will keep the lights on for some time, if the analog power supply is turned off.
With digital system you will not need since you have all the time power on the track.
This comes as kit, but if you want to send him your cars, he will install for you and send you back. If you want to do by yourself, all the parts are included inklusive power pickup.

But if you have a capacitor on a digital system, wouldn't that help to decrease flicker?

    Hello,

If your track is dirty, sure, but what you choose is also for digital use.
I mostly switch the car light interior and rear by integrated function decoder, and if your track is clean, no digital flickering. The effect will be worser on loco's than on lights. Olivers light packs are compatible with DCC/Selectrix, but like Caps only stand up to 5Volt, if you connect an analog kit, big bang.
Behind the decoder, there is the problem that all empty condensators are like short. So if you put no current limitation, it will kill the switching transistors of your decoder.
