Try this on atlas but came up with no answer to my question. [IMG] I was wondering if there is a company out there that has aftermarket circuit boards that can be purchased for loco's.
After paying to have one repaired, I decided that I would be fixing the next dead horse myself to cut cost. [IMG]
What I am looking for is a good speed control board and sound board combination that could be used in all of my loco's making the a uniform system and easier to trouble shoot and fix
Then I could interchange boards for trouble shooting and have extra boards on hand to fix them. (one set of boards fixes all no guess work :D to my under standing there a lot of different boards for different engines.
What I am looking is a speed control that well have a lot of low end speed control. and a sound board that with just engine sound, bell, whistle and not sure if the auto coupler is in this board but would want this option
I don't really want freight yard sound or any of the other options because I never use them on the loco's I have now so why buy that option.
My next option after the one dies  is to gut the boards and make them DC. simple toys are more fun. [IMG]
I have a small layout in O so dcs system isn't really worth it to me.
I also maybe making a outdoor garden railroad next summer and how well the eletronics hold up out side. (moisture and humidity) could gutting be better for this.
I know at this point I am asking myself why I didn't go 2 rail.
    Thanks

Well Roger, you might try TAS.

I understand they have speed control boards. I am into 2-Rail DC myself and will be using DCC. Hope this helps.
